It was all change at the top of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's Group A yesterday as Yorkshire LPS lost and Cambing won to take over at the top, with BPR and Heaton A moving up to make it a four-horse race with eight weeks of the seaon left.
Yorkshire LPS were all out for 99 at Heaton as S Mahmood took 5-40. In reply, M Hussain hit 51 not out to see Heaton home by six wickets and move up to fourth place.
Meanwhile, Cambing made the top score of the day - 247-8, Mohammed Khan top scoring with 95. Bradford Gymkhana B were then all out for 99 as Hameed Khan took 6-39.
BPR are now only six points off the lead after they defeated Bradford Gymkhana A by just six runs. BPR made 145-8 in their 40 overs and then dismissed Gumkhana for 139 as Abdul Hameed claimed 6-63.
Omars strengthened their place above the bottom two after their win at Muff Field. Alan Broadbent scored 48 in Muff Field’s 181-5 but Omars passed the score with six wickets down.
In Group B, the top two teams, Heaton and Hallfield, are pulling away and their is now a 12- point gap below second-placed Hallfield after they defeated third-placed Great Horton Meths by seven wickets.
Batting first, Meths made 175 all out, David Stead scoring 73. Nisar Aslam took 6-59 and then scored 59 as Hallfield passed the total with four wickets down. Sajid Mahmood was Hallfield’s top scorer with 86 not out.
Heaton defeated Odsal by three wickets to retain their six-point lead. S Kulkarni hit 52 in Odsal’s 137-7, a total which Heaton passed with six wickets down, Shaid Mahmood scoring 57 not out and Paul Cutherbertson claiming five wickets for Odsal.
Mandhata defeated Mayfield by 80 runs, despite 45 from Adam Beesley and 40 from Badar Munir.
Cross Roads and Daisy Hill beat Buttershaw St Paul's by three wickets, Graham Beaumont and Chris Hartley claiming four wickets apiece for Daisy.
Bowling Baptist's lead at the top of Group C was cut to eight points after they were held to a draw by Central YMCA.
Bowling scored 191-5 in their 40 overs, Mohammed Ibrar making 50 and Kasim Malik 57 not out, Andy Merideth claiming four wickets for YMCA. Then a dogged performance from the YMCA batters saw them close on 54-5.
West Bowling took advantage of this slip to cut the gap after they defeated Bradford Indians by 44 runs.
Dominic Carter hit 56 and Hasan Ali 64 in West Bowling’s 168, but Indians could not match them and were all out for 126, Kapil Chohan making 48.
Mayfield had a 12-run win over Cambing in a high- scoring match. Mafield made 200 all out and Cambing 188 all out.
For Mayfield, Nathan Ramsden scored 47 and took 4-78, Jason Ramsden scoring 45 not out. For Cambing, Siby Raghaven took 5-52 and Varinder Singh scored 62 and Jonaid Khan 43.
Cross Roads and Daisy Hill defeated Muff Field by eight wickets. Set a target of 59 to win, Daisy passed the score with two wickets down. Top-scorer was Dax Sowrey with 40 not out.
