Olicanian have the chance of slowing Bilton’s charge at the top of DIVISION TWO and reinforcing their own position as Aire-Wharfe League promotion hopefuls when the sides meet on Saturday.
Three straight wins have lifted the Ilkley outfit into second place but this is a tough test against a side who already have a 15-point advantage.
Much will depend on Bernard Hughes, who has taken 18 wickets in the last five matches, to hold a strong Bilton batting line-up.
But Olicanian’s batsmen will also need to hit more consistent form as they have passed 200 runs only twice in the last eight starts.
Anything less than victory for Olicanian could see Harden reclaim second spot because they should be too strong for visiting Illingworth.
And all the front-runners will hope Steeton can take something at Follifoot, who look menacing in fourth place.
Having notched their first win of the season last Saturday, Silsden will climb out of the bottom two if they can double up at Tong Park Esholt, who are just five points ahead of them.
Bolton Villas, who host Knaresborough, are still too close to the relegation zone to be comfortable, while Calverley need a win at Upper Wharfedale to improve their position at the bottom.
DIVISION ONE leaders Burley take the only unbeaten record in the league to an Otley side who confounded the tipsters last week by beating second-placed Beckwithshaw.
Green Lane’s fading title hopes will again be tested at Rawdon, who have recovered from bottom spot with a run that has seen them take 27 points from the last 36 on offer.
Guiseley will need an improvement in faltering form to get anything at home to third-placed Collingham, while Thackley face a tricky trip to Kirkstall Educational.
Only three points separate the top trio of clubs in DIVISION THREE but leaders Ilkley have the best chance of taking all six points with their home match against rock-bottom Alwoodley.
Ben Rhydding are level on points with the leaders but face a home clash with Addingham, who have beaten Ilkley and fourth-placed Colton in the last two weeks.
Third-placed Menston face an awkward trip to Woodhouse, who have won four of their last five games.
Horsforth’s batting is always capable of scoring runs and could provide hosts Colton with a tough test, while the visit of Skipton to Hall Park will be a battle between two struggling sides.
Sunday sees a mouthwatering Waddilove Cup semi-final between Burley and Green Lane for the right to meet either Bilton or Kirstall Educational in the final.
