An opening stand of 148 helped Shelf return to winning ways against fellow Halifax League Division Three title contenders Queensbury after the previous week’s shock defeat at Bridgeholme.
Queensbury were made to regret putting their local rivals in to bat as Dan Dunkerley (84), Steve Priestley (67 off 30 balls) and Andy Dimbleby (74) helped set a target of 294 to win.
Fine bowling from Dave Maloney (5-31) and Joel Metcalfe soon had Queensbury in trouble, with Dunkerley’s four wickets finishing off the tail to leave them 170 runs short.
Shelf Seconds won by three wickets at leaders Bradshaw, who scored 176, thanks to Craig Green’s 90 runs and Lee Crowther’s five wickets.
