Yorkshire are still on course for a County Championship victory after taking three wickets in the morning session of day four.

Warwickshire have advanced their second innings score to 270-6 from 100 overs at lunch, and they lead by 98 with two sessions to go.

Adil Rashid, Rich Pyrah and Steve Patterson have all struck, getting Ateeq Javid, Tim Ambrose and Steffan Piolet.

Rikki Clarke and the big-hitting Neil Carter are currently in the midst of a seventh-wicket partnership of 26, Clarke having advanced to 77 and Carter to 17.

Rashid had 18-year-old Javid caught behind by Gerard Brophy for a career-best 48 before Pyrah uprooted Ambrose’s off stump and Patterson trapped Piolet lbw.

This seventh-wicket stand is the danger one as far as Yorkshire are concerned, especially with Carter’s ability to hit the ball miles.

Jim Troughton, who retired hurt yesterday, is expected to bat.
