Bowling Baptist, who were in continuous membership of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League for 62 years until last December, have been handed a reprieve.
Baptist, who were also members from 1923-39, were deemed to have resigned at the league’s January meeting.
They did not attend the previous month’s annual meeting, had not filled in a league registration form for the 2010 season and had not paid their league fees for this season.
However, they have been accepted back into the league after a vote at a special league meeting at Carlton House on Little Horton Lane to take up the sole vacancy in Group C.
Baptist defeated Bradford Property Rentals (BPR) B 16-8 and will now face Mandhata in the first round of the Sir James Roberts Cup on Sunday, May 9.
It is expected that BPR B, who hope to play the majority of their home matches at Tong School as their ground at Coach Road in Shipley is largely unavailable to them due to a clash with their first team’s fixtures, will now join the Bradford Central League for this season.
The Mutual League have also voted to hold their monthly meetings at Clayton Rugby League Club from May onwards.
