It is not often AMCC’s wily captain makes a mistake, but this weekend he put Kashmir in to bat in their West Riding Sunday Cricket Council clash expecting to have them out for very little. Wrong.

With a careful 61 from Asif Ayub and support from the team, Kashmir made 177. Replying, Khaleeq Ahmed (51) and Azhar Mahmood’s 33 left the home side 22 runs short.

When West Bowling Attock’s first four batsmen made 30-plus each and Rashid Mehmood 43, the writing was on the scoreboard. Chasing 229 to win, Attock Sweet Centre managed only 150, despite a fine 50 from Irfan Maqsood.

United went to Glusburn and made 241 for six, with Asad Rashid contributing 86. It was not enough, as Mohammed Tariq belted fours and sixes all around in his crushing 109 not out to give Paper Print only their third win this season.

Safder Mehmood top-scored for Khan CC with 40 and Aamir Khan made 26 in their total of 127. Without the tweaking brilliance of Amir Khan’s five for eight in five overs the story might have been different.

Azad were all out for 67.

Azeems recorded a comfortable eight-wicket win over Euro Windows, while Prajapati lost by nine wickets to Harehills.
