A seven-week training course for scorers is being launched at Undercliffe on Friday at 7pm.
The course, which leads to the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers qualification, is being led by Derek Shuttleworth.
He said: "The training programme has been organised in response to interest expressed by a number of people. It is suitable for both new and experienced scorers."
Each candidate who attends the course will have to pay a £4 fee and in return they will receive a book of the laws of cricket.
