Denholme were crowned Division One champions after a comprehensive victory at Baildon Meths.

Steve Hethrington (35) and Gareth Marshall (50no) laid the platform as they put on 87 for the first wicket.

After Hethrington's dismissal, Chris Thompson (52no) continued the dominance with the bat over the ball as the visitors recorded an imposing total of 169 for two.

The Baildon batsmen did not find runs so easy to come by, with Tom Greenwood picking up an impressive return of three for seven as the home side were bowled out for 80.

Taurus Sports finished runners-up as they recorded a nine-wicket win over relegated Shelf. F Hussain (4-15) and V Mahajam (50no) were the star performers.

Thornton ensured they finished the season on a high note, as their eight-wicket win over Windhill saw them end the year in third place.

Joining Denholme and Taurus Sports at the Finals Day play-off at Windhill on August Bank Holiday Monday will be Sandy Lane and Haworth Road.

After hearing that Haworth Road had restricted Bingley Congs to 91 for eight, the men from Sandy could have been forgiven for assuming that their victory at Low Moor would just see them cement second place.

However, Awais Ejaz followed up his top score of 34 with three crucial wickets to limit Haworth Road to 80 for nine. This meant that Sandy Lane were crowned Division Two champions with Haworth Road claiming the runners-up spot.

All clubs are reminded that League averages are now due and they should be posted to the League secretary by Saturday, August 11 at the latest.
