Rawdon and Harden clash on Saturday in a vital match in the tense race for promotion from Division Two.

Last week's crushing victory over Bardsey, which included a big knock from captain Stewart Smith and a superb spell of six for 32 from Aussie Nick Williams, took Rawdon back into the top two, three points behind the leaders Guiseley.

But they will find fourth-placed Harden a much tou-gher proposition, especially if their attack of Phil Leng and Craig Wintersgill hit form.

It's a make or break day for Harden, who are currently five points adrift of Rawdon and, with Guiseley favourites to pick up full points at rock- bottom Hall Park and third-placed Silsden likely to do the same at Calverley, defeat could leave them with too much to do.

It may already be too late for Tong Park to make up the nine points between them and the second promotion place but they should be too good for Bardsey. Considering the Baildon side have not had an overseas player this season, it has been a satisfactory campaign for them regardless.

With the bottom two both facing tough challenges, the sides just above them, Horsforth and Upper Wharfe-dale, meet with the winner able to put a little more daylight between themselves and the drop zone.

Steeton gave themselves a glimmer of hope that they will avoid relegation from Division One with victory over Otley last week but they will do well to take anything from their home match against Pool, who have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table.

Third-from-bottom Green Lane, who also picked up maximum points last week, face a tricky trip to Adel and will be hoping that Burley do them a favour by beating Follifoot, who are just four points behind them.

Otley meet North Leeds as both sides look to recover from shock defeats last weekend.

Division Three's promotion race fixtures have echoes of Division Two with leaders Colton and third-placed Olicanian both looking to have comfortable matches against Bolton Villas and Alwoodley, while second and fourth slug it out.

Teenage paceman Johnny Taylor produced a seven-wicket haul to help Adding-ham polish off Illingworth last week and push them into second place, a point behind Colton and four ahead of Olicanian.

Phil Smith's side will need to be in equally clinical form this week against a Menston side who know that defeat will probably mean the end of their challenge which looked so promising in mid-June when they were top of the table.

Skipton, who have been around mid-table all season, could find themselves in the top four if they overcome Woodhouse, while form-team Thackley look to make it four wins in a row when they entertain Ilkley.
