Royal Mail inflicted the first defeat of the season on Bradford Evening League Division Two leaders Low Moor.

After being four for one, they recovered brilliantly, with Mark Gilliver (46), F Rashid (55no) and Dave Maloney (51no) being among the runs as the away side set an imposing 175 for four.

Rashid then took three wickets, along with S Hussain and Andy Morris, to bowl the home team out for 134.

Haworth Road took advantage of Low Moor's defeat to move joint top after they overcame John Breare's total of 113 for seven for the loss of just three wickets, Tom Rhodes making a splendid 51 not out.

Wibsey Park Chapel suffered a second consecutive defeat. Feyez Akram was the star of the show for Sandy Lane as he took six wickets for only 11 runs to dismiss WPC for 68.

Lane lost five wickets in reply but Adam Sutcliffe (27no) was there at the end to see his side claim the points.

In Division One, there was an excellent bowling performance from Daniel Bates, who took five for seven, which included a hat-trick, to leave Shelf all out for 65 in reply to Baildon's 184 for three. Ross Todd and Jonny Reynolds both made half centuries.

In a very tight game at Taurus Sports, Windhill emerged victorious by four runs.

Adam Sutcliffe top-scored for the visitors with 28 in their total of 106 for five. This seemed to be insufficient when Naeem Ashraf was dropped and continued to dispatch the ball to all parts of the ground. However, his enforced retirement upon reaching his half century, along with some cavalier strokes from other batters, saw Taurus fall agonisingly short of victory.

This leaves Denholme two points clear at the top after their win over BT (89-9).

Scott Ethrington's unbeaten 51 had set BT a challenging total of 160 to win.
