Keighley head for Bankfoot in Division Two on Saturday looking to avenge their opening-day three-wicket defeat and make it five wins on the bounce.

Along with Gomersal, the Lawkholme Lane side are the division's form team and sit in third place just six points off top spot.

However, experienced batsman Richard Robinson still refuses to get carried away with talk of promotion.

"It's still not the big aim," he said. "Most sides who go up sign four or five big players but we will be stuck with the same side as we don't pay anyone.

"Fair enough, if we go up, then great. It just means the young lads will have to learn faster."

His side's focus on youth saw spinner Andrew Coppen come to the fore last week when he took five for 23 as Spen were dismissed for just 95 in a seven-wicket success.

Robinson has been instrumental in Keighley's recent run with two centuries, despite struggling with a knee problem.

He said: "To be honest, I'm still injured. I didn't bat against Spen and I'm not sure whether I'll play against Bankfoot. I think it's old age!"

Robinson believes Morley and Gomersal could be the ones to emerge from a top five currently only separated by eight points.

"Morley are always hard to beat and Gomersal have got quality players who look more like a First Division side.

"With players like Bradley Parker and Richard Gould, they wouldn't have to sign too many new players."
