The clash of the First Division's top two, leaders Hepworth & Idle and second-placed Great Horton Church, proved to be the perfect platform for the home side's Nick Wood to show off his talents as an all-rounder.

He first hit the top score of the day, with 40 out of Hepworth's total of just 123, with the Great Horton pair of Sayeed Shah (4-13) and Muhammed Zaid (4-27) proving a real handful on the damp wicket for the home side.

In reply Church also found batting far from easy, particularly when Wood was introduced into the bowling attack.

He showed his prowess with the ball by returning four for 33 and, with help from Dave McDermott (3-10), the visitors were finally dismissed for 106, 17 runs short of the modest target.

Sharing second position in the table are BT Bradford (115-4) who recorded a four-wicket win at home to Wibsey Park Chapel (115), where Matthew Jordan hit 46 for the visitors.

In reply BT, despite losing six wickets, scurried to victory, with Umar Nisar Khan hitting a quickfire 40.

Girlington (129) collected six points at home to Thornbury with a 41-run win, the visitors' reply ending at a disappointing 88.

The individual performance of the day occurred at Laisterdyke, where 14-year-old Adam Butt of Salem Athletic returned the remarkable figures of eight for 69 in the Laisterdyke reply of 161, chasing 175 to win - Salem Athletic's Nasser Mir hitting 75.

Allerton's match with Norwood Green was called off due to the wet ground.

Second Division leaders Laisterdyke (89-7) moved 11 points clear at the top of the table with a three-wicket win at Salem (88).

The fixture between nearest rivals Great Horton Church & Hepworth & Idle was another casualty of the wet weather.
