Woodlands skipper Tim Orrell emerged from his slump as his team fended off a belated challenge from Hanging Heaton.

Orrell hit 108, including four sixes and ten fours, as his side made an imposing 292 for seven.

He added 163 for the fourth wicket with Tosh Baker (63) but the Batley side replied with 272 for seven thanks to five contributions of over 30.

It was as well for Wood-lands that Safraz Ahmed took three for 38 in 15 overs.

Innings of the day was Afaq Raheem's 152 for Pudsey Congs at home to Saltaire. It included three sixes and 22 fours, and Andy Bairstow (58) helped the opener add 156 for the third wicket in Congs' 305 for nine.

Gulsheraz Ahmed took five for 58, and Saltaire also claimed maximum batting points, Fawad Maqsood (68) partnering Ahmed (57) in a 107 stand for the fifth wicket after Wasim Munawar's 46.

Spinner Luke Jarvis again showed what a fine signing he is for East Bierley by taking six for 54 in their 73-run victory at home to Farsley.

Mark Robertshaw made it two centuries in three inn-ings with his unbeaten 103 in Pudsey St Lawrence's 255 for two at Baildon, the swashbuckling James Smith (94 not out) helping him add 127 unbroken.

Baildon came close to victory, being all out for 241 at the end of the 49th over after wicket-keeper Matthew Duce had made 78, Smith showing what a key all-rounder he is by snaffling five for 80.

Closest match of the day was at Bowling Old Lane, who went down by two runs to Cleckheaton, whose key stand was 51 for the tenth wicket between Dean Worrall (32) and Craig Wiseman (32 not out).

Amjid Khan (5-40) and the steady Zubair Najeeb (3-20 off 15 overs) did well for Lane, as did Tahir Khan (61) and Bilal Ejaz (33).

All-or-nothing bowler Andy Marshall took five for 21 and Dilhara three for 18 as Idle notched a crucial four-wicket win at home to Brighouse.
