On a day for hat-tricks, close finishes and high scores, Crossflatts went to the top of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League First Division, albeit in a nail-biter at Haworth.

The Bronte side were indebted to Damian Rowell, who scored 91 of their 150 as Mick Addy kept one end tied up to finish with a magnificent eight for 29.

'Flatts' reply was always there or thereabouts, although they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Mohammed Adil made 42 as they crept home by one wicket, with Damian Rowell taking three for 38 and Jamie Rowell three for 50.

Thornton slipped off the top after they tied at Sandy Lane in dramatic fashion. The home side had struggled to 116, with Gary Coyle top-scoring with 18 as Richard Craddock and Alamger Anwar took three wickets each.

The Booth Bridge Laners struggled in their reply and were 60 for six, before Anwar cracked 79 in getting the score to 116 for seven, where the last three wickets fell. Iftikhar Hussain finished with six for 44 and Michael Roberts three for 39.

Embsay move up to third, on run rate, after seeing off bottom side Sutton by 115 runs.

The Shires Laners went first and posted 218 for three, with Duncan Ward making 71 not out and Simon Bailey 70.

The visitors slumped to 38 for six before some tail-wagging got them up to 103. Stephen Speak claimed five for 33 and Ben Airey four for 37.

Bradley are fourth following their defeat of Cowling. The visitors were dismissed for 114, left-arm spinner James Heseltine doing the damage with seven for 20. He was well supported by John Duffey (3-45).

The homesters lost three quick wickets in reaching ten, then Neil Robinson and Craig Tempest steadied the ship before the latter, with 38, and John Hillary, who finished on 34 not out, took them to the winning post by four wickets.

Cullingworth are fifth after inflicting a third successive defeat on Oakworth at Cure Hill.

The home side were dismissed for 119, with several batters getting starts but being unable to push on.

David Robinson was the best bowler with four for 52. The visitors were looking rocky as they slipped to 60 for six before Shane Whitford (35 not out) and Phil Poole (34 not out) saw them to the spoils by three wickets.

Glusburn are sixth after thrashing Bingley Congs at Park Field. Nick Williamson was in great form, crashing 104 not out to go with Faisal Sardar's 54 in a total of 264 for eight.

The Beckfoot side crashed to an ignominious 75 all out, with Bashat Khan (3-6) and Steve Filkin (3-20) doing most of the damage.

Barrowford's march at the top of the Second Division continued with them beating Denholme by 43 runs at Bull Holme.

Neil Hargreaves (83) and Liam Roberts (36) set the platform for their 202 for eight, with Greg Boyes chipping in with 38.

Stuart Rogers (52) was top scorer for the visitors as they replied with 159, Mark Atkinson taking six for 44.

Airedale moved into second after defeating visitors Embsay Seconds by 166 runs.

Haworth Road's Will Burgess scored 102 - his second century of the season - which helped his side to 183 at Foulridge. The Noyna side collapsed to 64 against Nick Griggs (7-37) and Mick Holmes (3-20).
