Denholme made the most of good batting conditions in Division One of the Bradford & District Evening League as Niall Lockley, Chris Thompson and Andy Hodgson all scored half-centuries at Shelf.

Teenager Paul Quinlan then took four for 17 as Shelf made 126 for eight in reply to Denholme's 228 for one.

Des Wilkinson's three wickets helped Windhill dismiss British Telecom for 96. Luke Holroyd then hit 55 not out as the home side won by seven wickets.

Thornton were indebted to Richard Gould (41) and Nikki Hutchinson (32 not out) as they made 109 for six at Baildon Methodists.

The home side then slumped from 27 for one to 61 all out due to devastating bowling by Ross Parr (3-27) and Grant Soames (3-4).

Adam Hodgson (53) and Richard Whitehurst (37) helped Esholt to 143 for seven against Taurus Sports.

However, M Ur Rashid (44) and overseas star Viveck Mahajan (45 not out) led their side to a seven-wicket win with more than four overs to spare.

In Division Two, Haworth Road continued their unbeaten start as they overcame Royal Mail's 97 all out for the loss of just one wicket, Mick Brooksbank proving his class with an unbeaten 55.

John Breare's captain Steve Tinsley took four for 13 and took the fielding point as Low Moor were dismissed for 84.

Carl Harrison's 35 not out proved crucial as the home side could only muster 66 for nine in reply, Tinsley top-scoring with 17.

Sandy Lane paid the price for fielding only eight men against Norwood Green (137). Iftikhar Hussain retired upon reaching his half-century but was unable to resume his innings and Sandy Lane were all out six runs short of victory.

Mark Smirthwaite's half-century helped Wibsey Park Chapel to a seven-wicket win against Bingley Congs (101-5).
