Thornton were without a win in the Bank Holiday double header, starting off with a five-wicket defeat at Mytholmroyd.
Andy Hutchinson hit an undefeated 107 in their 228 for four but, despite three for 42 from Ben Harris, it was not enough.
On Monday at home to Copley, the visitors made 195 for six (Greg Soames 4-37) but Thornton were well short on 158 for seven, Hutchinson making 65.
Sixteen-year-old Ross Parr was the star of the show for the seconds with an unbeaten 88 out of a total of 207 for seven at Northowram Hedge Top. He then took four for 31 as the hosts were bowled out for 185.
