THERE are three Bradford area derbies to look forward to in the first round of the Spenser Wilson Halifax League Parish Cup on Sunday, May 8.

Jer Lane, league champions for the past three seasons and cup winners in 2013, will host Cullingworth in the Briggs Priestley-sponsored knockout event.

Low Moor HT entertain Shelf and 2015 Division Two winners Great Horton Park Chapel visit Oxenhope.

Meanwhile, Denholme Clough will be at home to Outlane in an all-Division Two clash, while Queensbury will be at home to Stones.

And Thornton – third in the Premier Division in 2015 – will entertain 2015 runners-up Mytholmroyd in what could well be the tie of the round.

Clayton are one of two clubs to receive a bye, while Triangle will start their cup defence at Warley in an all top-flight encounter.

However, after a rule that was passed at the annual meeting, the Halifax Carpet Company-backed Crossley Shield is being run as a separate competition, rather than their ties being the opposite of what they are for the Parish Cup.

Clayton have drawn the short straw there as they host Warley, who are bidding for a hat-trick of Shield victories.

Cullingworth welcome Denholme Clough, while Great Horton Park Chapel are at home to Oxenhope – which, ironically, is the reverse of the Parish Cup draw.

Shelf are at home to Old Crossleyans, Jer Lane visit Booth, Low Moor HT are at SBCI and Thornton travel to Sowerby St Peter's. Queensbury have received a bye.
