Central Yorkshire League side Buttershaw St Paul's failed to recapture past Jack Hampshire Trophy glories at home to unpredictable Premier Division side New Farnley.
Their opponents arrived on the back of a league defeat to Birstall the day before and Buttershaw were well in the game up to the last quarter.
They restricted New Farnley to 188 for seven, with Ian Carradice (3-43) and Gurdev Singh (2-26) performing well. Though they lost two early batsmen, Mark Wilson (23) and Johnny Lister (38) added 75 for the third wicket.
But Tim Helliwell, having joint top-scored with 38, produced a match-winning six for 26 to bowl out the home side for 117.
There was no luck either for Westwood Park, who made 127 for seven against Premier Division Batley chasing 239 for eight.
Mirfield Parish Cavaliers moved into second place in the Premier Division table with a crushing defeat of Batley at Wellhouse Lane thanks to Iqbal Khan (102no) and Ibrahim Latif (54) in a total of 298 for four. Mohammed Shah Nawaz (5-35) and Mohammed Azhar Ullah (4-67) then bowled Batley out for 104 in reply.
Birstall (Vikram Rathour 63) were five-wicket winners at Carlton in the Premier Division but lost by 36 runs at Wickerlsey in the Heavy Woollen Cup.
Liversedge managed only 181 for nine chasing 238 for five (Nick Connolly 120) at Ossett in the league before disposing of Wakefield Thornes by six wickets in the cup.
