Two more clubs have resigned from the Bradford Central League.
Wibsey Park Chapel and Hepworth & Idle have quit, and with Norwood Green trying to get into the Bradford League for 2008, it could take the number of clubs participating in the Bradford Central League down to seven.
They are due to celebrate their centenary season next year but league secretary Peter Farndale said: "We are in dire straits. Seven clubs is hardly viable but we will have to see what our league meeting says on May 31."
Farndale added: "Both Wibsey Park Chapel and Hepworth & Idle resigned on the weekend of April 28-29 but I am annoyed that both of them have resigned without having a league to go to.
"At our last league meeting, we asked for clubs to commit to us for three years, and seven clubs have done that, but even if the others couldn't commit to us they should have stayed with us until they found out something more definite."
Crucially, however, clubs must resign from their own leagues by April 30 in order to play league cricket with another league in 2008.
If Norwood Green get into the Bradford League that would leave them with an odd number of clubs in Division Two.
Bradford League chief executive Bob Shackleton said: "We wouldn't necessarily be looking for another club and we haven't been in talks with anybody."
