Two of the quartet at the top of the Central League first division clashed on Saturday, with local rivals BT (Bradford) hosting Hepworth & Idle.
And it was former BT skipper Dave Matthews who proved the scourge of his former team-mates when the visitors, having been put in on a difficult wicket, were reeling at 54 for eight when Matthews strode to the wicket.
He hit what was to be the top score of the game (27), helping steer his side to a respectable' 98.
In the BT reply, Matthews was to the fore again, returning five for 31 to help dismiss the home side for just 62 and maintain his team's 100 per cent start to the season.
Allerton and Great Horton Church also maintained their unbeaten starts, both recording narrow victories.
Great Horton Church were indebted to Zafran Ghaffar (50) and an unbeaten 40 from Umar Abbas in their 135 for eight to record a two-wicket win at Laisterdyke (133).
Allerton (104-9) scraped home by the narrowest of margins over Girlington (101), Asif Sheikh earlier returning six for 53 for the home side.
Wibsey Park Chapel (161-9) had an even closer call at home to Salem Athletic (160-7) where, for the second successive week, Matthew Jordan, with an unbeaten 29, was in at the finish to see his team to victory. Shahid Malik returned six for 53 for the unfortunate visitors.
Norwood Green (62-6), despite Kaleem Afzal's five for 22, recorded their first win of the season over Thornbury, who had been dismissed for 59 (Waqas Rashid 6-25).
In the second division top match, Thornbury's Choudray Ghulfran had a good day all round against visitors Norwood Green (179, David Stead 62), first returning five for 40 and then hitting 40 out of 182 for eight.
Laisterdyke (125-4, Craig Wilkins 53) share top spot with Thornbury following their six-wicket win at Great Horton Church (123).
