Bowling Old Lane's first victory of the season has had a remarkable effect on their position in the JCT600 Bradford League Division One table.
They went into the fourth match of the season three points behind opponents Hanging Heaton in bottom spot.
However, the promoted club's triumph has lifted them four places and left the Batley side and Farsley in the two relegation places.
Old Lane's success came on the back of a sterling recovery by their lower-order batsmen and by virtue of putting the ball in the right place after tea.
The home side were 90 for seven after Fahaan Khan had ripped through their middle order but they were revived by a splendid eighth-wicket stand of 66 between Raqeeb Younis (39 not out) and Bilal Ejaz (32).
Instead of facing something a little over 100, Hanging Heaton needed 177 to win, which is even more of a tall order when you consider that in two of their three previous matches this season they haven't even reached three figures.
Bilal Ejaz sometimes pitched short enough to allow the visitors to pull him but if he pitched it further up he was a real handful.
In contrast, skipper Zubair Najeeb trundled in at the other end but he was accuracy personified with his medium pacers and Hanging Heaton found them a potent combination.
Old Lane's fielding told too, Younis making good ground to dismiss Nick Whitehill in the covers with a diving catch and wicket-keeper Imran Mirza taking a fine one-handed catch to dismiss Sujith Vilanage.
The upshot was that Hanging Heaton again failed to reach 100, Najeeb finishing with four for 28 and Ejaz three for 54.
Najeeb said: "Anything we got from our first three matches against East Bierley, Pudsey St Lawrence and Woodlands was a bonus but we showed here, as we did last season, that we bat all the way down.
"As for our bowling, Bilal has got genuine pace and if he puts it in the right areas then people will have trouble against him. As for me, I just tried to bowl line and length and get it to move off the seam.
"Another thing was our fielding, which helped us get promotion. Imran did really well to take that catch as he has had a virus for a few weeks which has restricted him. Now we have our first win, we need to kick on."
Much like Hanging Heaton, Farsley were never in the hunt at Brighouse, Tim Linley taking seven for 38 as the home side won by 144 runs, Mark Gilliver (63) and James Clarke (74 not out) putting on 127 for the hosts' first wicket in their 233 for two.
East Bierley still lead the table as Gharib Razak returned to Roberts Park to haunt Saltaire with an unbeaten 102.
Woodlands are two points behind in second after Safraz Ahmed (5-43) and Pieter Swane-poel (4-32) helped dismiss Idle for 88, while Craig Wiseman's five for 58 spurred Cleckheaton, who recovered from 87 for six to 185 for eight, to a 44-run home win over Pudsey Congs.
Baildon spun their way to a 34-run victory over Manningham Mills, while Andrew Doidge took five for 32 as third-placed Pudsey St Lawrence beat Bradford & Bingley by 63 runs at Tofts Road.
