BOTH openers notched centuries as Crossflatts dominated visitors Barrowford in Division One of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

In-form all-rounder Joshua Kazar made 107 and Mohammed Adil carried his bat for 101 as the hosts racked up 277-1 declared after a mere 36 overs.

Although Haroon Ali made 54 in the middle order, the Lancastrians were castled for 148 as Kazar continued his fine day by taking 3-29, Adil bagging 2-20 and Qamar Ayub 2-27.

Even more comprehensive was Haworth Road Meths' demolition of Foulridge at Baildon Bottom.

Will Burgess made 61 of the hosts' 230, Ian Robson helping the tail to wag with 37, before Mohammed Hanif (4-14) and Mohammad Ibrahim (4-40) got among the wickets as the visitors could only make 90.

Meanwhile, Sutton have boosted their survival hopes. After an unpromising start at Riddlesden, two men revived Sutton's fortunes, with skipper Craig Thornton making 61 and No 11 Justin Holdsworth an unbeaten 37 to boost them to 171-9.

Riddlesden were never in the hunt in reply and could only make 117, with Simon Doane taking 4-51, Tony Walton 2-9 and Richard Walker 2-31.

Sutton and Embsay, who also won, now move above Foulridge and Chatburn, splitting what was a four-way tie at the bottom.

At the other end of the table, Oakworth cashed in against fellow joint-leaders Bingley Congs at Wide Lane.

Opener Jack Hainsworth (118) and Michael Scarborough (80) put on 179 for Oakworth's third wicket in their 291, pacemen Harry Greenhalgh (6-91) and Matt Roberts (4-90) taking all the victims.

Congs, who were 13-3, replied with 180 as Josh Nutting (42), Neil Copping (41), Chris Dibb (33) and Tom Keighley (31) made some headway against Scarborough (3-31), Steve Filkin (2-25) and Adam Smith (2-33).

Ingrow St John's kept pace with Oakworth by comprehensively defeating Haworth at Street Lane.

Openers Omar Khatab (101) and Deepal Dissanayake (51) set the tone and Farhaan Abbas weighed in with 48 not out down the order as Saints made 286-8. Dan Trowers took 5-85 and Damian Rowell 3-98.

Despite 42 by Andy Coatesworth, Haworth only made 147 in reply as Abbasi (4-22) and Wasim Hussain (4-41) proved too tough to handle.

Crossflatts hammered 277-1 before dismissing Barrowford for 148.

After conceding 230-7 at Division Two leaders Thornton-in-Craven, things looked very bleak for Ingrow when they were 100-8.

But after opener Mark Price had been dismissed for 53, the Hoyles – No 9 Jake (51no) and No 10 Dale (27) – helped the Keighley club to a more respectable 178.

Cowling remain hot on Thornton's heels after a convincing 62-run win over Bradley.

Shahid Hassan (55), Mike Dudley (46) and Ajmal Choudhry (43) were the mainstays of Cowling's 243-7 as Casper Bean took 3-58.

But Neil Andrews (50) lacked support in Bradley's reply of 181, although Harry Andrews made an unbeaten 32 as Choudhry took 3-44 and Martyn Dalby 3-49.

Glusburn had a day to forget at Denholme, being rolled over for 82 in an eight-wicket defeat as Ryan Judson (4-16) and Matty Wear (4-30) broke the back of their resistance before the hosts sped to victory in 14.2 overs.

Long Lee were unlucky as they only needed to take one more wicket at Hepworth & Idle when rain caused the match to be abandoned.

The visitors were staring down the barrel at 41-6 before Stephen Butterfield (55) and Lee Humphreys (40) put on 83 for the seventh wicket in helping them to 137.

Hepworth & Idle were 79-9 before Mark Saunders (23no) and David Goodaire (6no) defied Long Lee in an unbeaten last-wicket stand of 24 until the rain came.

Wilsden became the first team to be defeated by cellar-dwellers Gargrave this season. The visitors made 198, Stuart Wilson taking 5-81 and Aaron Pearce 3-56, before Wilsden replied with 176, of which Jacob Jagger scored 46 not out and Dipesh Mistry 44.

Cononley's lack of runs means they are now only three points clear at the head of Division Three.

They could only manage 128 at home to Haworth Road Meths Seconds, of which Andrew Starkey scored 46, and lost by five wickets, despite Jack Hatton's 3-27 as Wajid Mahmood hit an unbeaten 52.

Jack Dixon (3-17) and Owen Narey (3-28) could not save Eldwick & Gilstead from a two-wicket defeat at home to Embsay Seconds.

Hasnat Bukhari (7-27) was the match-winner for Ingrow St John's Seconds at Sandy Lane.

Neil Spencer (4-42), Jack Harrison (3-37) and Jack Barker (48) were the chief contributors as Denholme Seconds won by five wickets at Barrowford Seconds.

Basement boys Bradford & Bingley found runs hard to come by at Sandylands as Skipton Church Institute dismissed them for 57 – and the reply was comprehensive as CI won by ten wickets in just 7.4 overs.

Classy batting from elegant left-hander Paul Ellis (73no) sped Thornton-in-Craven Seconds to a seven-wicket win at Division Four leaders Bingley Congs Seconds, who did not cash in after being 109-1 after 24 overs. Tony Teale (52) and Charlie Raistrick (49) set a platform which was not built on.

Glusburn Seconds fell to a seven-wicket setback at home to Crossflatts, Brain Freimanis taking 4-55 and making 44 for the winners.

Haworth suffered a crushing ten-wicket defeat at new leaders Hepworth & Idle as the wily Gary Orrell (4-7) and Donald Wooller (4-20) sent them back for only 51.

Gargrave must have run over a black cat at home to Wilsden as, seeking their first win of the campaign, they lost by four runs.

Glen Stableford (70no) carried his bat for Wilsden – and how grateful they were for his runs when Gargrave were dismissed just short at 143, Paul Kirby taking 4-31 and Harrison Houldsworth 3-29.

Another cruel defeat came for Oakworth Thirds at Foulridge Seconds, who made 103 from 71-2 as Michael Davison took 3-16 and Alan Fothergill 3-18.

Oakworth were 71-7 before being dismissed for 99 as Jordan Powell top-scored with 30 and Corey Green was unbeaten with 15.

Chatburn Seconds defeated Airedale Seconds by seven wickets in the Ribble Valley as visiting opener John Pollard batted through 30 overs for 45 not out.

Sutton Seconds continue to lead Division Five, romping to a ten-wicket triumph at home to Cononley Seconds.

Carl Jopson took 6-29 and Sam Solley 3-35 as the visitors were dismissed for 130, then Solley scored 75 not out and Glynn Thornton 34 not out as the target was reached in just 24 overs.

Second-placed Cowling Seconds were pushed a little harder at Bradley Seconds, who made 160-7 on the back of 54 by Neil Lambert and 36 from opener and skipper Danny Smith as Ray Jones took 3-30.

Cowling captain Sajid Shafait then made 75 not out and Zahid Shafait 35 not out as they won by six wickets in 42.4 overs.

Long Lee Seconds triumphed by seven wickets at home to Skipton Church Institute Seconds, with Simon Webster taking a best-ever 5-39.
