HOLDERS Pudsey St Lawrence and last season's beaten finalists Cleckheaton were both knocked out on a dramatic day of Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup action.
Bradford & Bingley inflicted a first defeat of the season on Division One leaders Pudsey St Lawrence in the only tie where rain did not play a part in proceedings.
They won by 12 runs, while 2013 winners Lightcliffe put their inconsistent JCT600 Bradford League form behind them as they defeated league champions Cleckheaton in a nail-biting game.
New Farnley are also through to the semi-finals for the first time after taking just 8.1 overs to pass Yeadon's 110-4 in a match reduced to 20 overs.
Bankfoot and Pudsey Congs will have to play again this coming Sunday after just seven balls were possible at Wickets Close. This means the league's T20 finals, which were due to be played next Sunday, have been moved back to Sunday, June 28.
There was little hint of what lay in store at Wagon Lane when Bradford & Bingley skipper Phil Slater was dismissed by the first ball of the game from Craig Wiseman.
The outlook still did not look too bright for the home side when they slipped to 74-4 as Wiseman completed his spell with 3-33. Opener Charlie Best (45) was one of Wiseman's victims – but the game was to be transformed by a fine innings from Ryan Cooper.
He hit seven sixes and two fours in an attacking innings of 81 which enabled his side to post a score of 200, Richie Lamb finishing with 3-30.
St Lawrence were given a sound start by openers Adam Waite (38) and Mark Robertshaw (26) but once they were dismissed, the wickets started to tumble.
Left-arm spinner Noman Ali, man of the match in the 2012 final for Manningham Mills when they were beaten by East Bierley, produced a fine spell of 4-28.
St Lawrence were left depending on Chris Marsden to see them through but when the left-hander was stumped by wicketkeeper Best off Ali for 42, the writing was on the wall.
The visitors were finally dismissed for 188 and hopes of a possible league and Priestley Cup double will have to wait for another year.
Cleckheaton made their exit despite some attacking play from their batsmen which saw them total 235 all out.
Opener Andy Gorrod gave them a brisk start with 73, Mally Nicholson quickened the tempo with his 51 before overseas player Tanzeel Altaf blazed to 50 off 17 balls, with five sixes and three fours. The pick of the Lightcliffe bowlers was Jonathan Whiteoak (5-70).
Skipper Alex Stead (76) and Suleman Khan (59) led the successful Lightcliffe run chase before a late salvo from Rob Burton (19no) saw them over the line with four wickets in hand. Stead hit a six and nine fours, while Khan's 38-ball knock included five sixes.
Former Yorkshire opener Scott Richardson hit an explosive 68 from 21 balls as New Farnley romped into the last four by seven wickets.
Richardson, who has been languishing in the club's second team recently, smashed seven sixes and five fours as he and Lee Goddard (37) put on 94 for the second wicket in just six overs.
It crowned a miserable day for Yeadon, who had their innings interupted by rain after 12 overs and had little time in which to post a challenging score when it resumed.
They finished on 110-4 off 20 overs, with Damon Gormley making 38 not out.
