FOSTER'S Halifax League Premier Division champions Jer Lane have suffered their first defeat of the season.

On a day when the top three were beaten, Jer went down by seven wickets at Triangle after making a relatively modest 186, with skipper Mick Hustler (57no) and Raqeeb Younis (33) the only players in double figures as the visitors recovered from 81-5.

However, Lane stay top because second and third-placed teams Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge also lost.

Thornton went down by four wickets to Warley, while Queensbury left Southowram 15 points adrift at the bottom after Amjad Alui's whirlwind 61 not out, in company with opener Jamie Priestley (73no), helped the home side chase 223 for victory, having been 92-5.

Last year's Division Two champions Bridgeholme are the new leaders of Division One after toppling Northowram Hedge Top.

Nazakat Ali did it again for visitors Bridgeholme, following up his 7-6 against Sowerby with 7-29 as the Rams were bundled out for 105, Keir Litjens carrying his bat for 45 not out.

Sam Gardner (5-30) hit back with the ball for Northowram, and Brigeholme were 72-6 before recovering to win by four wickets.

Darren Hopkinson (84) and Stuart Jackson (4-24) were the stars of Oxenhope's 13-run win over Sowerby, while struggling Stones overhauled Low Moor's 180-7 with six wickets in hand.

Division Two leaders Cullingworth avoided the carnage affecting the front-runners, but only after a major scare at Denholme Clough.

The loss of four wickets for four runs left them 78-5 in reply to Clough's 201-7 (tanweer Aslam 68).

Will Rankin came to Cullingworth's rescue, figuring in stands of 69 and 54 with Jon Terry (21) and George Fletcher (20no) to snatch a four-wicket win with one over to spare.

Great Horton Park Chapel are second after cruising to an eight-wicket win at Old Town, who were bowled out for 93. Clayton come next after a six-wicket win at Greetland.

The closest match in the section was at Shelf where Lee Butterfield was in the runs again, making 63 in the home side's 190-7, Old Crossleyans falling four runs short.
