A 117-run sixth-wicket stand between Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid has helped Yorkshire breath more comfortably during the fourth morning against Somerset at Taunton.
The White Rose side started the final day of this LV= County Championship match in danger of suffering only a fourth four-day defeat since the start of 2012 at 171-5 in their second innings, a lead of just 124.
But fifties for Bairstow and Rashid have helped them to lunch at 275-6 from 99 overs, a lead of 228 with a minimum of 65 to bowl.
Bairstow, 66, was the only wicket to fall in the session as he edged Alfonso Thomas behind, leaving the score at 234-6. Rashid will resume this afternoon on 71 with Tim Bresnan 16.
