JOHN Breare timed their Bradford & District Evening League run chase nicely as they won their top-of-the-table Division Two clash at home to Cambing.
A powerful half-century from Fazal Wazir (55no) was the cornerstone of Cambing's 129-7 off 16 overs, three run-outs stopping them from posing an even higher total.
However, Bevan Williams (50no) and Chris Coates (32) shrugged off the loss of an early wicket to pepper the boundary and lead their team to the second-tier summit with more than two overs to spare.
Stonewhite skipper Mohammed Usman (4-15) was in devastating form with the ball as he tore the heart out of Cross Roads & Daisy Hill's batting, reaching 111-9 in reply to the Keighley-based team's 160-7.
Meanwhile, Buttershaw St Paul's are still searching for their first win, despite Jordan Laban's entertaining half-century out of 133. Imran Mirza (50no) responded in similar fashion to lead Indian Panthers to a six-wicket victory.
Mayfield did secure their first triumph, fashioning three run-outs which helped to dismiss Shipley Providence for 78.
The visitors had hopes of pulling off an unlikely win when Mayfield were 19-3 but Mohammed Altaf and Manzar Shah both made an unbeaten 29 in a seven-wicket win.
Local rivals Denholme and Thornton were involved in a thrilling Division One encounter.
Charlie Davy (54no) and Jack Hainsworth (50no) produced an array of explosive shots to lead Denholme to 161-2.
But Thornton took up the challenge, with the Hutchinsons (Josh 54no and Nikki 53no) taking their team to the brink of victory – aided by five penalty runs when the ball struck the keeper's face mask on the ground.
Needing 13 runs off the final over, with ace bowler Phil Poole injured, a six off the first ball bowled by Richard Wear gave Thornton a great chance.
But Wear showed his class to concede just five runs off the next five balls to lead his team to a one-run win.
Smart Moves remain unbeaten as Mohammed Pander (4-12) helped dismiss last year's champions Salem Athletic for 87.
Shelf and Tong Park Esholt recorded their first victories of the season, securing six-wicket home wins over Thackley and Great Horton Park Chapel respectively.
