YORKSHIRE will be a touch frustrated with their morning’s work against Somerset at Taunton, having reached lunch at 87-2 from 29 overs after losing the toss.
On a pitch offering little assistance to the home side’s all-seam attack, openers Alex Lees and Will Rhodes fell for 34 and 28 respectively.
Lees was trapped lbw by Peter Trego, leaving the score at 55-1 in the 14th over, before Rhodes was caught at leg gully as he fended off a shortish ball from Jamie Overton with 79 on the board in the 27th.
Jack Leaning and Andrew Gale will resume this afternoon on ten and seven respectively. Glenn Maxwell, meanwhile, makes his four-day bow for Yorkshire and is expected to bat at six.
Somerset are playing this LV= County Championship fixture without a spinner, having omitted Pakistani left-armer Abdur Rehman.
