AFTER being shot out for 96 on a tricky Kirkstall track last week, Burley could not have asked for a tougher match in which to restore confidence than a visit from early Aire-Wharfe League pacemakers Beckwithshaw.
Having finished as Division One runners-up last season, Burley had high hopes coming into the new campaign and plenty of encouragement from two early wins.
But they were against sides who are struggling to get going and defeats against Follifoot and Kirkstall mean Burley need to halt this run quickly.
Beckwithshaw, in contrast, have won their first four, bowling out each of their opponents and conceding an average of 113 runs, so Burley will need stalwarts Nick Brook, Charley Davy and Ed Brown to be at the top of their game if they are to come out on victors.
With Ricky Halloran in good early form, Otley have also bowled out their first four opponents and are only two points behind Beckwithshaw.
They will fancy their chances if the Kirkstall wicket continues to favour the bowlers but need to beware Tom Webb and Stephen Brown, who already have 23 wickets between them.
Rawdon, who have only completed one match so far – a tie with Steeton – entertain Ilkley, who are struggling to match last season's form, while Steeton will be looking for their first win against a Guiseley side that is finding the going very tough.
After suffering their first defeat last week, Green Lane host Thackley – who are looking to build on their first win. And in another Division Two top v bottom clash, Tong Park Esholt have the daunting task of facing leaders Illingworth.
Horsforth, who came up with Illingworth last season, travel to Harden, while the two sides relegated from Division One – Ben Rhydding and Pool – meet at Coutances Way.
Skipton have made a solid start to the season but face their toughest test to date against Colton, who are among the favourites to win promotion.
Silsden, the only Division Three side without a win, travel to second-placed Addingham, who have been greatly improved by the addition of Aussie Nathan Harford.
Calverley are starting to show the form that was expected of them and should be too strong for struggling Olicanian. And after last week's crushing of Hall Park, Bolton Villas will be confident against Menston.
Park have another tricky match against Alwoodley, who have surprised everyone by leading the way at the top of the table.
* Otley start their defence of the Waddilove Cup with a tricky first-round tie against Division Two pacemakers Illingworth on Sunday, while Ilkley travel to Steeton in one of only two all top-flight clashes.
Draw: Adel v Guiseley, Alwoodley v Ben Rhydding, Beckwithshaw v Pool, Bolton Villas v Follifoot, Burley v Harden, Collingham v Menston, Kirkstall Ed v Bilton, Knaresborough v Horsforth, North Leeds v Upper Wharfedale, Olicanian v Tong Park Esholt, Otley v Illingworth, Rawdon v Addingham, Silsden v Calverley, Skipton v Old Modernians, Steeton v Ilkley, Thackley v Green Lane.
