THE weather has not been kind to the Bradford & District Evening League so far, and only two games survived the latest round of fixtures.

Idle must have been the place to avoid the rain as both Cambing and John Breare played and were rewarded with home wins.

Gulsheraz Ahmed (50no) and Azhar Mahmood (32) put on 99 for the first wicket as Stonewhite scored an impressive 167-4 at Cambing.

However, the home side, who had racked up a big total at Buttershaw the previous week, once again proved that they are a different proposition this year.

Salman Saeed (50no) was joined at the wicket by Saajad Ali (54no) with the score at 62-2, and they made light work of the challenge in front of them, ensuring their team won by six wickets with 2.4 overs to spare.

Shipley Providence found the bowling of Matty Lumb (4-14) too hot to handle as he dismissed their top four.

The visitors never recovered, with their innings finishing on 75-8. In reply, Bevan Williams (50no) hit a rapid half-century as John Breare cantered to a ten-wicket win inside seven overs.
