JACK Brooks took two wickets in as many deliveries to keep Yorkshire on top in their County Championship encounter with Hampshire.
A fifty from Michael Carberry threatened to put the visitors in the driving seat as he added 75 for the second wicket with Liam Dawson.
But after Dawson, who was dropped twice in the morning session, was dismissed by Will Rhodes for 40, the Tykes came roaring back through Brooks.
The former Northamptonshire man first had James Vince lbw after the Hampshire skipper offered no shot to a full delivery before claiming his 250th first-class wicket with the dismissal of Will Smith with the very next ball.
Sean Ervine kept out the hat-trick ball as he and Carberry helped Hampshire to 127-4 at tea, but they remain 243 behind Yorkshire’s total of 370.
Earlier in the day, the hosts added 37 to their overnight score of 333-7, with Jack Leaning eventually out for a patient 82.
