THE FUNERAL of Long Lee Cricket Club stalwart Derek Granger is being held on Tuesday at the Salvation Army in High Street, Keighley (noon), prior to cremation at Oakworth Crematorium.
Derek, who died aged 76 in Manorlands Hospice on Tuesday, April 7, was involved at the club for 60 years, the seam bowler being second-team captain before taking on responsibilities as committee member, groundsman (with Kevin Murray) and league representative, initially for the West Bradford League and latterly the Craven League.
He was also an original panel umpire for the Craven Umpires' Association in 1995, often in partnership with Colin Myers, and was also a regular umpire for the Craven League representative team's match against the Nidderdale League at the Nidderdale Show.
