YORKSHIRE have enjoyed a stunning morning to seize control of their LV= County Championship match against Worcestershire at New Road, with Jack Brooks taking three wickets before lunch on day three and Steve Patterson striking twice in an over.
After advancing their first-innings reply to 311 from 298-9 to 307 all out, including 83 for Tim Bresnan, Brooks helped to reduce the hosts to 21-4 in their second innings, adding to his five-for in the first innings.
Bresnan trapped Richard Oliver lbw before Brooks had Moeen Ali caught at second slip, Daryl Mitchell caught at first slip and Alex Gidman caught behind.
And when Patterson had first-innings centurion Tom Fell caught at first slip, a second catch for Alex Lees, and Ben Cox lbw, Worcester were 48-6 in the 22nd over, leading by only 52.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Gareth Andrew will start the afternoon at the crease with their side on 55-6 from 24 overs at lunch.
