YORKSHIRE have lost three wickets during the second afternoon against Worcestershire at New Road, including captain Alex Lees for 87.
The champions are 179-5 from 50 overs at tea and in danger of falling short of the hosts’ 311. The skipper fell lbw to Gareth Andrew in the 47th over, so Andrew Hodd and Tim Bresnan will begin the evening session unbeaten on 26 and six respectively.
Rich Pyrah and Jack Leaning were the first of the afternoon wickets to fall, caught at second slip and trapped lbw off Jack Shantry, with the former making 43 in a 108-run stand for the third wicket with Lees.
They took 45 runs off the first five overs of the session, advancing the score from 60-2 after 16 overs. The wickets have put the brakes on the scoring rate, however.
