ALEX Lees and Rich Pyrah have steadied the ship with a third-wicket stand of 57 unbroken after Yorkshire slipped to 3-2 in their second day reply to Worcestershire’s 311 at New Road.
Yorkshire will resume after lunch on 60-2 from 16 overs following ducks for Will Rhodes and Cheteshwar Pujara, who were both caught in the slips off Charlie Morris and Gareth Andrew.
Jack Brooks finished with 5-56 after Worcester started the day on 264-8, with Andrew hitting 59. Brooks had Andrew caught in the slips and Sachithra Senanayake’s caught at deep mid-wicket.
Lees has already hit two sixes off Senanayake’s spin and Jack Shantry’s seamers and will resume on 37 not out, while Pyrah has 22.
