Yorkshire have advanced their lead over Leeds Bradford MCC Universities to 369 at lunch on day three at Headingley, and will chase a second first-class win of the summer in the final two sessions of the match.
Resuming their second innings this morning on 126-6, the county champions added 116 runs in the session for the loss of Rich Pyrah and Tim Bresnan, who made 40 and 38 respectively in a seventh-wicket stand of 77. They are 242-8 from 75 overs.
Pyrah fell to left-arm spinner Joe Ellis-Grewal and Bresnan to seamer Liam Watkinson.
It would be no surprise to see Yorkshire declare during the lunch break and leave themselves two sessions to bowl the students out for the second time in the match and add to last month’s win over the MCC.
Steve Patterson and Karl Carver are 22 and 16 not out.
