Opener Alex Lees has posted an unbeaten half-century during the opening session of Yorkshire’s three-day friendly against Leeds Bradford MCC Universities at Headingley.
Lees has underpinned a White Rose lunch-time score of 112-3 from 34 overs with 51 not out off 95 balls.
After being invited to bat, Yorkshire lost Will Rhodes caught behind down the leg-side off Liam Watkinson for one, Dan Hodgson bowled by Harry Rouse for 35 and captain Andrew Gale lbw to Doug Pratt for seven, leaving the score at 87-3 in the 27th.
Lees and Hodgson shared a second-wicket partnership of 72 inside 21 overs. Jack Leaning will resume this afternoon unbeaten on seven.
