JASON Gillespie is close to confirming a coaching job share with Yorkshire and Big Bash Twenty20 team Adelaide Strikers.
The White Rose first-team coach will almost certainly be named as the Strikers' new coach before the end of the ongoing champion county fixture in Abu Dhabi.
Gillespie played for South Australia and still has a house in Adelaide.
South Australia Cricket Association (SACA) yesterday parted company with Darren Berry, who has combined coaching the Strikers with state team South Australia.
Now the roles will be split. Gillespie, 39, will coach Yorkshire in the English summer and the Strikers in the Australian summer.
SACA chief executive Keith Bradshaw said: "We are in discussions with Jason on the Strikers side. Should we conclude that negotiation, I would be absolutely thrilled."
