Yorkshire’s batsmen are ploughing on in the desert as Andrew Hodd and Will Rhodes have scored important fifties during the second afternoon against the MCC.
The sixth-wicket pair added a 104-run stand to help take the champions through to tea at 305-6 from 91 overs in reply to 221. They came together with the score at 195-5.
Adam Lyth was trapped lbw by Adam Riley’s off-spin for 113, in the 62nd over, and it marked the first of two wickets to fall in the session.
Hodd reached 50 off 58 balls and Rhodes brought his up off 130. Hodd was caught behind off Matt Dunn in the dying stages of the session for 57. Rhodes is 53 not out with Adil Rashid for company.
