MEWIES Craven League club Bingley Congs have submitted plans to extend their tea-room and upgrade their dressing rooms to include showers and toilets.
Both senior sides will have new captains – Mick Brooksbank for the first team and Jonny Teale for the seconds – indoor nets started last month at Bradford & Bingley and outdoor nets will, weather permitting, start at Beckfoot Lane on Tuesday, April 7.
Congs are also increasing the number of junior teams, adding under-15s and under-nines to the already existing under-17 and under-13 sides.
The under-nines team will be formed from players who have participated in the Chance to Shine coaching scheme the club have been involved with at Myrtle Park and Priestthorpe primary schools. However, Congs will welcome returning or new players for their senior and, particularly, junior teams.
Further information is available from Mick Brooksbank (01274-510512 or 07904-680687), Chris Hemsley (07887-891969) or David Allen (07970-542850), or via the club's websites at www.bingleycongregationals.play-cricket.com or www.pitchero.com/clubs/bingleycongscc.
