ADAM Lyth has strengthened his case to open the batting for England in their upcoming tour of the West Indies.
The Yorkshire left-hander, who retired out on 106 in the tour opener in Soweto, made 65 on the first day of the second unofficial test against South Africa A in Bloemfontein.
County colleagues Adil Rashid (68), Jonny Bairstow (47) and Liam Plunkett (24) also weighed in but Alex Lees fell for five as the tourists were dismissed for 260.
South Africa A were 29-1 in reply off 10.5 overs.
