YORKSHIRE'S Liam Plunkett and Jack Brooks, best known for their bowling, had fun with the bat as England Lions' first unofficial test against South Africa A ended in a tame draw at Paarl.
No 8 Plunkett, 31 not out overnight, went on to make 55 off 77 balls, while No 10 Brook cracked an unbeaten 53 off a mere 39 deliveries as the Lions made 624-8 declared in reply to the hosts' 504-8 declared.
There was just time for Adil Rashid to have South African Test batsman Stiaan van Zyl stumped by Jonny Bairstow for 39 as South Africa A replied with 92-2.
