Yorkshire have lost opening pair Adam Lyth and Alex Lees during the third afternoon at Northampton - but not before they had shared a mammoth stand of 375.
Lees was the first to go, caught at mid-on against Matt Spriegel’s off-spin, for 138 off 349 balls before Lyth was caught behind against Andrew Hall for 230 off 398 balls, including 31 fours and a six.
The pair’s partnership is the fourth highest for any wicket in Yorkshire’s history, and Aaron Finch has since made his way to a debut half-century.
Yorkshire will resume this evening, weather dependent, on 468-2 - a lead of 363, with Finch unbeaten on 56 and Jack Leaning on 21.
They have shared 54 in 11 overs for the third-wicket. Bad light stopped play two overs before tea.
