Yorkshire lost seven wickets in the afternoon session of day three to be bowled out for 243 against Lancashire at Headingley today.
Captain Andrew Gale took advantage of being called back to the crease by the umpires, having been given out caught behind down the leg side, to move from 25 to 95 not out.
But unfortunately for Yorkshire he could not stop the wickets falling at the other end as the White Rose county conceded an 82-run first-innings lead.
Tom Smith claimed an impressive five-wicket haul as Yorkshire slipped from 127-3 at lunch.
Gale was given out by umpire Peter Willey just after lunch after a half-hearted appeal from bowler and opposite number Glen Chapple and the rest of the Red Rose team.
The left-hander showed his displeasure to the umpire, tugging at his trouser leg to indicate where the ball struck, and was promptly called back.
