New Farnley were the club most grateful to see the arrival of the rain in the JCT600 Bradford League second-team competition.
They had been bowled out by Pudsey Congs for just 56 as Harris Mohammad took an impressive 4-8.
But Congs were unable to start their reply on a day when the only other Division One action came at Albert Terrace as leaders Woodlands reached 130-8 against defending champions Morley, Liam Collins making 51.
Leaders Undercliffe got themselves into the strongest position in Division Two as they bowled out Windhill for 90 (Adam Frost 3-32) but rain prevented a start to their reply.
Hartshead Moor had Bowling Old Lane in trouble at 77-6 (Rory Allan 3-23) when their match was abandoned.
Just six overs were possible as Brighouse were reduced to 10-2 by Pudsey St Lawrence.
Bankfoot had made a sound start against Idle, reaching 45-0 in 12 overs, while Great Horton were 15-1 before play was abandoned against Saltaire.
