Bradford Mutual Sunday School League side VVS Laxman are hoping to make waves again this year.
The club, who were in just their second season in the league, won Division C in 2013, triumphing in 11 matches and losing only two.
They also had top individual performers in Navdeep Nigam, Mahesh Patel, Sajid Ali and Awais Anwar, who all finished in either the top five batsmen or bowlers in the whole league.
Nigam, perhaps taking inspiration from his club’s name, was obviously a man in a hurry.
He hit 118 off only 41 deliveries against Hallfield on May 4, including 13 sixes and eight fours, and 116 in 67 balls (eight sixes, 13 fours) off the Great Horton Church attack on July 27.
Not surprisingly, his total of 50 sixes were the most by an individual in the league in 2013.
Ali was also a big hit, slamming 104 off 48 balls against Great Horton Methodists (11 sixes, six fours) on September 7.
The all-rounder also took five wickets in an innings three times, as well as bagging a hat-trick.
