The Bradford Mutual Sunday School League is now being run by an executive committee.

The decision to go from a club-based delegate structure to a more streamlined executive set-up was passed 23-3 during the league’s annual meeting at Clayton Rugby League Club.

Club representatives will now only have to attend five meetings a year, including the annual meeting, instead of eight.

The executive committee will consist of the league’s president, chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, fixtures secretary, results secretary, registration secretary and one delegate from each of the four divisions.

Results secretary Stewart Roberts’ proposal that a bowler be restricted to a maximum of 12 overs in a 40-over innings, instead of ten, failed – as was his proposal to report clubs if they failed to bowl 16 overs per hour without a valid reason.

But fixture secretary Graham Langton’s proposal that players can qualify for the averages if they take 30 wickets a season in the top three divisions, or 25 in Division D, instead of a blanket qualification of 35 wickets was passed.

So was Great Horton Church’s proposal that visiting teams should order at least seven teas.
