A total of 88 members played for Hawks Cricket Club during their 75th anniversary season, 85 of whom batted and 65 bowled, with 12 wins, eight losses and two draws from the 22 matches.
These statistics showed the strength of the club said club chairman Andrew Bickerdike at their annual meeting at the Square & Compass pub in North Rigton.
President Andrew Scott also spoke, making a moving tribute to long-standing member Charlie Clayton, who died recently.
The evening was attended by over 30 members and they were treated by the club to a free bar and “up-market” pie and peas, with various speciality pies on offer.
Trophy winners were - Ted Lester, batting; Kevin Woodley, bowling; Tom Lester, fielding; Simon Armitage, outstanding performance; Ollie Woodley, young player of the year; Jason Scott, clubman of the year.
