The Mewies Solicitors Craven League could be run by an executive committee in future.

League fixture secretary Trevor Coe said: “We feel it will streamline the decision-making process.

“If it passed at the annual meeting in December, the league would be run by the five club representatives, plus the existing executive committee, and two of the the club representatives will stand for re-election for two years from 2015 by the drawing of lots, and that re- election process will then happen every year.

“General club representatives would only have to attend three meetings a year – March (pre-season), November (rules revision) and December (annual meeting).”

Clubs are also being given the option of whether they want to enter the Wynn Cup (first team) or Cowling Cup (second team), rather then being automatically entered for both.

League secretary Ann Coe said: “We have been disappointed by the number of walkovers given by teams who do not want to play on Sundays.

“If we allow clubs to enter either or both cup competitions, we should get teams who are prepared to play on Sundays.

“But if this proposed rule change doesn’t get through or doesn’t work, we can go back to the rule as it exists now.”
