All-round sportsman Navdeep Nigam entertained 50 Oasis Lister Park Academy pupils with a talk about controlled aggression at the school’s latest coaching masterclass.
Nigam is not only a decent cricketer (he was the leading run-scorer this season for Bradford Mutual Sunday School League side VVS Laxman) and tennis player, but also captained India to a softball gold medal at the 2009 World Youth Championships.
He said: “Controlled aggression is an integral part of any sport and acts as a great pillar of strength for a player in tough times.
“If you play with controlled aggression, it always keeps you on top of your opponent and helps you focus when a player is going through a bad patch.”
The session was organised by Cricket Masterclass co-ordinator Mahesh Patel.
