Bradford League Division Two leaders Farsley survived a narrow scrape at Yeadon on Bank Holiday Monday as they secured a one-wicket win to record their eighth victory in succession.

Replying to a modest Yeadon score of 140, Farsley edged home after Oliver Halliday (3-41) posed problems.

Yeadon’s innings was held together by second-team captain Andrew Pickering. He carried his bat for an unbeaten 54 as the only prolonged support came from Mustafa Bhatti (49).

New Farnley reduced Farsley’s lead to six points after picking up maximum points for their 185-run win over bottom team Great Horton.

Nick Walker smashed a century and shared in a fourth-wicket stand of 203 with Tom Suggitt, who served up a fine innings of 83. Walker was in typically belligerent form as he struck five sixes and nine fours in his 110.

Dave Cummings (3-21) took a hat-trick in his fifth over and was backed up by Nick Johnson (3-19) as Great Horton struggled to 115 all out in reply.

Third-placed Spen Victoria defeated near-neighbours Gomersal by six wickets at Spen Lane.

It was two former Gomersal players who put the skids under their old club. Robin Burton took 4-22 and spinner Ben Platt 4-20 as the visitors were bowled out for 114. Tosh Baker (44no) and skipper Dan Shuffe (34) ensured Spen reached their target.

Aaqib Uppal continued his good form for Bankfoot as they recorded a 77-run win over Windhill. Uppal top-scored with 40 in Bankfoot's 199, and then took 3-32 to help dismiss Windhill for 122. Naeem Khan took 6-12 for Windhill.

Just two days after equalling the league’s highest individual score with 214 against Great Horton, Fakhar Hussain was caught by that man Uppal off Hanson for just one.

Since winning their opening two league matches to go to the top of the table, Keighley have suffered a disastrous run of form. They have lost five of their last six league games - the other one was abandoned - and been knocked out of the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup.

Their latest defeat was the hands of an Undercliffe team who have also been going through an indifferent spell of form.

Overseas player Nawaz Sardar made 79 as he and skipper Ben Heritage guided their side to 211-5 despite the efforts of Tom Stead (3-51). Sardar followed up with 4-35 as he and young spinner Amir Hussain (3-47) sent Keighley tumbling to 148 all out. Former Undercliffe opener Matthew Bottomley was their top scorer with 44.

Ahsan Butt rescued Bowling Old Lane for 32-3 with a determined innings of 81 as they defeated Hartshead Moor by 41 runs. Butt was well supported in a fifth-wicket stand of 105 by Khurram Maqsood who hit a valuable 63. Martin Riley 94-67) and Danny Squire (3-48) were the best of the bowlers.

Hartshead Moor skipper Graham Hilton led his sides reply and was unlucky to be dismissed just three runs short of what would have been a deserved century. Leg spinner Mahboob Hussain took 4-53 as Hartshead Moor finished on 206-9.

Waj Hussain was in fine all-round form as Idle defeated Brighouse by 109 to record a much-needed win. Hussain (69) and Harpal Ryatt (54) enabled Idle to post a score of 215-8, then Hussain (3-20) and Alex Robinson (3-37) helped dismiss Brighouse for 106.
